Spider Treatment Services

Spiders and their webs build up fast around eaves, windows, doorways and outdoor areas. They make a property look neglected, and they come straight back after a quick sweep.

We treat the outside of your building to clear the infestation and keep it from returning. Our staff are fully trained, and we work on homes, shopfronts, offices, schools and large commercial sites across Christchurch and Canterbury. We treat exteriors only and don’t spray inside buildings.

Which treatment is right for your building?
The right order depends on how bad the infestation is. We’ll look at your building and recommend the best approach.

Heavy infestation: treat first, then wash

Spray the webs. We spray the webs and the areas where spiders are living, so the spiders come into contact with the treatment as they move through their webs.
Building wash. Once the spiders and webs have been treated, we carry out a building wash to clear the webs, dirt and grime.
Maintenance spray. After the wash, we apply a maintenance spray to keep the spiders from coming back.

Light to moderate webs: wash first, then spray

Building wash. We wash the building to clear the webs, dirt and grime.
Maintenance spray. We then apply a maintenance spray to the washed surfaces to keep the spiders at bay.

Washing after a maintenance spray washes the treatment away, so we always spray after the wash.

Questions we get asked

Do you spray inside? No. We treat the outside of buildings only.
Why do you spray before washing on some buildings? On a heavy infestation, spraying the webs first lets the spiders come into contact with the treatment before we wash. On lighter infestations, we wash first and finish with a maintenance spray.

Why spray again after the wash? The wash clears the old webs and any treatment on the surface. The maintenance spray goes on afterwards, so it protects the freshly cleaned surfaces.

How long does it last? Normally 3 to 6 months, depending on how exposed your building is to the weather, how many spiders there are, and how many trees are nearby. We’ll recommend a maintenance schedule when we quote.

Is it safe for my family, pets and customers? Yes once dry the area is fine to touch, any food areas or pets bowls should be removed and rinsed afterwards. We’ll tell you what to keep clear while we work.

Can you do it with a roof or house wash? Yes. We can wash the house, roof and gutters and treat for spiders in the same visit.
